Difficult questions, supposed to set me free?

1.How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are?

I’d probably think I’m almost 30.

2.Which is worse, failing or never trying?

I lean towards failing as something worse, not everything is worth trying.

3.If life is so short, why do we do so many things we don’t like and like so many things we don’t do?

Because we don’t live alone, and if we lived only for ourselves, life would probably be excruciatingly long.

4.When it’s all said and done, will you have said more than you’ve done?

I hope not, I really hope not.

5.What is the one thing you’d most like to change about the world?

Geology.  Tectonic Plates. Wished it wouldn’t be so difficult to visit the people I cherish far away.

6.If happiness was the national currency, what kind of work would make you rich?

The kind of work which lets me explore the world yet still have time for my loved ones.

7.Are you doing what you believe in, or are you settling for what you are doing?

For the most part, I do what I believe in. I value my own beliefs.

8.If the average human life span was 40 years, how would you live your life differently?

I would’ve not dedicated so much time to having formal education. I’d sleep less. Be more aggressive with some matters, means, making decisions faster.

9.To what degree have you actually controlled the course your life has taken?

I’ve always been pretty much in control when it comes to my own direction in life, its just that my life is not separate with others, so a couple of things are keeping me from maximum control.

10.Are you more worried about doing things right, or doing the right things?

Its doing the right thing. But who says what’s right, right?

11.You’re having lunch with three people you respect and admire. They all start criticizing a close friend of yours, not knowing she is your friend. The criticism is distasteful and unjustified. What do you do?

We’re all guilty of criticism at some point. I’ll provide a different perspective of my friend and further do say that I am disappointed with the way they have criticized, and it bothers me because I respect and admire them.

12.If you could offer a newborn child only one piece of advice, what would it be?

Trust God.

13.Would you break the law to save a loved one?

If its man’s law, I would. But God’s will is God’s will. Just to point though, in the hierarchy of values, love is at the top of my list. Love isn’t just a feeling, its a choice.

14.Have you ever seen insanity where you later saw creativity?

Yes.

15.What’s something you know you do differently than most people?

The tedious way of taking care of myself using what you call “home remedies”, I can spend a whole day just completing my entire regimen. I come up with my own “concoctions” haha. I just love healthy glowing soft skin, I’m not aiming to be flawless, I’m not :)

16.How come the things that make you happy don’t make everyone happy?

Because they’re not me and I am not them, I won’t have it any other way.

17.What one thing have you not done that you really want to do? What’s holding you back?

Explore the world! Reality holds me back, I have to be responsible.

18.Are you holding onto something you need to let go of?

I reckon yes. But as they say, its not easy, especially when we’re talking about forgiving oneself. I know I should. Maybe a little more time haha.

19.If you had to move to a state or country besides the one you currently live in, where would you move and why?

If I had to, I’d move to Japan because their way of life is admirable. Life becomes art and is well-expressed in everything. I fully appreciate that.

20.Do you push the elevator button more than once? Do you really believe it makes the elevator faster?

I don’t, it doesn’t make any logical sense to do so.

21.Would you rather be a worried genius or a joyful simpleton?

Joyful simpleton suits me just fine. Worrying can be so tiring, comes to a point you just don’t want to think anymore.

22.Why are you, you?

Because this is the way I want to be. I choose to be this way.

23.Have you been the kind of friend you want as a friend?

Gee, I hope so. I try to be.

24.Which is worse, when a good friend moves away, or losing touch with a good friend who lives right near you?

I’d go with losing touch with a friend nearby. You can’t just show up and expect everything to be back to normal again.

25.What are you most grateful for?

For everyone who’s making my life beautiful and worth living.

26.Would you rather lose all of your old memories, or never be able to make new ones?

I’d rather start from scratch. I will not live in the past.

27.Is it possible to know the truth without challenging it first?

Yes, do you have to question everything? Sometimes, you just know it is for real.

28.Has your greatest fear ever come true?

I guess so, I don’t know what to do.

29.Do you remember that time 5 years ago when you were extremely upset? Does it really matter now?

I remember a certain event quite a bit; somehow it still does matter but in a good way, reminding me how I cherish good friends.

30.What is your happiest childhood memory? What makes it so special?

This is a tough one. There’s this one Sunday afternoon, the whole family was at the dining table while I played all my piano pieces for them. I feel at peace when I play the piano, even if I only play simple pieces, and to be able to share that means a lot.

31.At what time in your recent past have you felt most passionate and alive?

I guess when I was in HK, at the top of the Buddha statue looking at the mountains and breathing fresh air. When you realize, there’s always so much more to life than the worries you have, you’re energized.

32.If not now, then when?

Not everything’s in my control haha. Soon enough. Everything in its own time. Things happen when we’re ready for them.

33.If you haven’t achieved it yet, what do you have to lose?

Its a matter of perspective. I will achieve what I set myself to achieve, in the right time. I only gain things in the process, not really lose.

34.Have you ever been with someone, said nothing, and walked away feeling like you just had the best conversation ever?

I did. Actions do speak louder than words.

35.Why do religions that support love cause so many wars?

Love comes with passion, maybe people become too passionate they’re blinded and lose control.

36.Is it possible to know, without a doubt, what is good and what is evil?

For me, no. I only know a speck of the whole picture of our existence. We create truths to make us feel safe and secure in reality of the unknown.

37.If you just won a million dollars, would you quit your job?

Maybe not immediately. At this point, I could use more learnings.

38.Would you rather have less work to do, or more work you actually enjoy doing?

As long as I still have time for other things, I don’t mind more work.

39.Do you feel like you’ve lived this day a hundred times before?

Not really, I’m always thinking, something new. Not an entire day is really the same. Instances within the day though, yes, I’ve lived some of them a thousand times.

40.When was the last time you marched into the dark with only the soft glow of an idea you strongly believed in?

This is figuratively speaking right? I don’t know, must have been too long ago that I can no longer remember.

41.If you knew that everyone you know was going to die tomorrow, who would you visit today?

Morbid idea huh. If I could teleport too, I’d visit everyone I care about, hug them and say I love you, see you in the next life :)

42.Would you be willing to reduce your life expectancy by 10 years to become extremely attractive or famous?

Not really, the offer doesn’t appeal much to me.

43.What is the difference between being alive and truly living?

Those whose hearts still beat are alive. Its more or less intrinsic. To truly live is a choice, its not built in, its not effortless.

44.When is it time to stop calculating risk and rewards, and just go ahead and do what you know is right?

When it probably has something to do with genuine love.

45.If we learn from our mistakes, why are we always so afraid to make a mistake?

Because at that moment you’ve made a mistake, you experience hurt and/or pain. You can’t predict how much of that you’ll get, and how much of that you can take.

46.What would you do differently if you knew nobody would judge you?

I’d be in two very different industries.

47.When was the last time you noticed the sound of your own breathing?

Just recently, probably a couple of days ago. I notice it when I have a lot things going on in my mind.

48.What do you love? Have any of your recent actions openly expressed this love?

I love…food! Everytime I come up with some dish, its my expression of love for food. Just earlier today made dessert.

49.In 5 years from now, will you remember what you did yesterday? What about the day before that? Or the day before that?

Not in detail but I somehow have good recall on some events with people I really know. Since the past week’s been somehow important, I probably will.

50.Decisions are being made right now. The question is: Are you making them for yourself, or are you letting others make them for you?

I make it a point to make my own decisions. I’ll ask for opinions sometimes but I run my own show.

My sister’s getting married! Both of my sisters married at 25. Haha, I hear that age as a marker for some of my lady friends. And I thought, here I go as usual - odd man out, just like they both have 29 as day of birth while mine’s 26 :-)

But I’d say, good for them; they found their special someone early while so many spend the rest of their lives looking for theirs. Kudos for my sisters’ courage to enter the married life.

I’ve been threatened that I might end up an old maid with how carefree I am with “the one” thingamajigz. Oh no. Hahahah.

As Claire Forlani said at the end of Meet Joe Black, “It’ll come to us.”

This means I am not posting a “Groom wanted” sign so I can follow both of my sisters’ footsteps - that 25th mark.

Its simply like our “birth days”, I just have a different timeline in life. There will always be a right time for everything.

Thaaaank you ^____^

Congratulations to Ate Cathy and Francis!

See this handy thing? Oh yeah, its a mobile massager! Hahahah! I got one at Watson’s. Darn saleslady wouldnt take it off my back, I was like “happy place”, okay I’ll take one. That’s why I try not to wander aimlessly around malls, I almost always end up buying something out of the blue. But this one, it looks… *alien* … but I’m liking it. Foooooooooo.

Tell me, does my face say “Hey loser, stalk me!”

Its hard to figure out why I draw the weirdest of the earthlings. Oh don’t give me that s*&t it takes one to know one, don’t you think they’re just aiming on the wrong circle?

And I’m starting to think - do I have a problem, just saying “No”?

No - what part of ”no” will anyone misunderstand right? It brings me to John Mayer’s song, “Say what you need to say”. So why can’t I just say what I need to say and utter, ”No”? (ah, actually, “HELL NO”)

Here’s the scenario:

Guy approaches, says a few words to me, “the stranger”. Asks for my name nicely. Stupid stranger gives her name out of deliriousness (from all the readings). Worse, even gave her number. What a stupid gal.

Seriously, what kind of idiot am I?! Now I get calls telling me its lunch, its breakfast…. Achmed! I need Achmed!

Stop calling meeeeeeee….
